Here's what our clients had to say when we were chatting about their home: "What first drew us to this home was its incredible character. The beautiful mantlepiece, original shutters, and exposed beams give it so much charm, making it feel warm and welcoming from the moment you step inside. The large attic room has been one of our favourite spaces, it’s so versatile and full of light, and the views from up there are just stunning!
We’ve also loved how peaceful the road is, it’s incredibly quiet, and there’s a real sense of community here. The garden was another huge selling point for us; it’s much bigger than others we’d seen, which has given us the chance to create different spaces—a relaxing spot to sit with a coffee, an area for growing veg, and plenty of room to just enjoy being outdoors.
Walkley itself has been a fantastic place to live. The community is something special, with events like Walkley Festival bringing everyone together, and brilliant baby and toddler groups that have been a lifeline. The location is ideal, just a short trip into the city centre, but also within walking distance of Hillsborough and Crookes. We’ve loved having such great local cafés like Aesthete and Gerry’s, and the library is a lovely hub of the community. Plus, with Rivelin Valley so close, we’ve always felt like we’re on the edge of the Peaks, with amazing walks right on our doorstep."
Step inside this charming home through the back door and into the off-shot kitchen, where natural light pours in from the window and two Velux rooflights. There’s a lovely mix of practical storage with cupboards, drawers and shelving, all finished with a classic subway-style tiled splashback. You’ll find space for a freestanding oven/hob, washing machine and under-counter fridge.
Leading on from the kitchen is the dining room – a brilliant space for hosting, with plenty of room for a table and chairs. The exposed brick chimney breast adds character, with built-in storage cupboards to one side, and there’s even a traditional ceiling-mounted clothes airer. There’s access to the cellar here too, and just across the base of the stairs is the cosy lounge.
The living room is a warm and inviting space, perfect for relaxing after a long day. The wood-burning stove set within the fireplace makes it especially lovely on chilly evenings. There’s ample space for comfy seating, original shutters on the window, and a door leading out to the front of the property.
Upstairs on the first floor are two bedrooms and the family bathroom. The main bedroom at the front is a comfortable double with handy storage under the stairs. The second bedroom is a generous single – currently used as a nursery – and overlooks the rear garden. The bathroom features a bath with shower over, WC, wash basin and a towel radiator.
On the top floor is the third bedroom – a fantastic double with Velux windows front and back, allowing light to flood in. There’s also plenty of built-in storage in the eaves, making it a great, versatile space.
Outside, there’s a small forecourt at the front with steps up to the front door. The south-facing rear garden is a real highlight – perfect for those who love being outdoors. Arranged over several tiers, it offers so much flexibility and can be tailored to suit your lifestyle. There’s a secure lawn and gravel area, a lovely patio for seating, plus raised beds for growing your own fruit and veg. At the top of the garden, you’ll also find a summerhouse – a great spot to unwind or use as a little retreat.
