What The Owner Says
"We moved into this house in 2016 as first-time buyers, expecting to stay for around five years, but we ended up here for ten because we loved it so much. We were drawn to the generous room sizes, the spacious kitchen diner, and the sunny, sheltered garden. The views really sold it to us: you can see all the way to the moors, with snow on the tops in winter, and the west-facing front means beautiful sunsets most evenings. The road itself is quiet, which adds to the peaceful feel.
The garden has been a real highlight for us. It’s private, peaceful, and enjoys sun throughout the day. In the spring and summer, it’s the perfect spot to sit with a morning coffee, and on warmer evenings we’ve loved unwinding out there with a book. It’s also been a great space for hosting, with some brilliant BBQs with friends over the years.
The location has been great for us. We regularly head out for walks in Rivelin Valley, which is only a five-minute walk away, and love how easy it is to jump in the car and be out in the Peak District in just five minutes. In the other direction, we’ll often walk into the city centre, or if the weather’s not on our side, just hop on the 95 bus for an easy trip in.
Locally, we’ve been really spoilt. Walkley Beer Co and The Raven Inn are our go-to pubs in Walkley, while Crookes and Hillsborough are both within easy reach for a change of scene, Crumb for pastries, The Pangolin for a drink, and The Orange Bird for something a bit special.
We’ll really miss the friendly, welcoming feel of the neighbourhood, which has made it a lovely place to live."
Step through the front door and you’re welcomed into a home that instantly feels warm, characterful and perfectly set up for modern living. The hallway leads you through to a beautiful living room, where a bay window frames stunning views across Rivelin Valley, the kind of outlook that changes with the seasons and never gets old. There’s plenty of space to relax, with built-in shelving adding both style and practicality, making it a room you’ll naturally gravitate towards at the end of the day.
To the rear, the kitchen diner is very much the heart of the home. Timeless shaker units, warm worktops and thoughtful details like open shelving and bevelled tiles create a space that feels both classic and inviting. There’s room for a proper dining table, making it ideal for everything from busy weekday breakfasts to slow Sunday dinners with friends. With direct access out to the garden, it’s easy to spill outside in the warmer months and make the most of the sunshine.
Upstairs, the sense of space and light continues. The main bedroom enjoys that same incredible Rivelin Valley view, a brilliant way to start your day, while the second double overlooks the garden, offering a quieter, more tucked-away feel. The third bedroom is a versatile space, currently used as a home office but equally suited as a nursery or guest room, again making the most of those far-reaching views. The bathroom is clean, modern and ready to move straight into.
Outside is where this home really comes into its own. The south-east facing garden is a real sun trap, designed to follow the light throughout the day. Whether it’s a morning coffee on the patio near the house or an evening drink at the top of the garden, you’ll always find a spot in the sun. Established flowerbeds line the pathway, giving it that proper “gardener’s garden” feel, while still leaving space to entertain, host BBQs or simply unwind in peace.
