What The Owner Says
"We’ve really loved living here. The apartment is tucked away down the drive alongside the River Sheaf, away from any roads. As it’s on the top floor and towards the back of the development, it’s very quiet and private. Being next to the river and surrounded by lots of trees, you can hear the birds and the sound of the river flowing, which makes it feel particularly peaceful. The building also feels safe and secure.

The apartment has a lovely high-spec finish, with plenty of built-in bespoke storage we’ve had fitted, including wardrobes, a dressing table with drawers and a TV unit with lots of storage. These have made it particularly easy to keep the space feeling uncluttered. There’s also a large storage cupboard, where we’ve added shelving to make the most of the space.

The location is one of the things we’ve enjoyed most. It’s a short walk from Millhouses Park, Crumb Bakery and the supermarkets across the road, as well as the pubs, bars and restaurants on Abbeydale Road. Dore train station is a 5-minute drive away, which is useful for commuting to Manchester and getting to Manchester Airport.

For us, it’s been a great place to live, quiet and private, but with everything we need close by."

There's something reassuring about a development that's found the right size, big enough to feel settled, small enough that you'll actually know your neighbours' faces. This two-bedroom second floor apartment sits within exactly that kind of place, and the finish inside backs it up.

You notice it from the hallway. It's a proper size, with a storage cupboard that means the hoover and ironing board don't end up on a shelf somewhere or shoved in the corner of a bedroom, small thing, but it makes a difference day to day.

The living space is open plan and easy to be in: a comfortable spot for the sofa, a bespoke media wall with shelving and storage underneath, and a kitchen that's been done properly rather than as an afterthought, smart cabinetry, a tiled splashback, and integrated appliances including a dishwasher, which isn't something you see often in a flat this size. There's room for a dining table too, so it works whether you're having a quiet coffee or people over for dinner.

The main bedroom is a good-sized double with fitted wardrobes built to match the rest of the apartment. The second room is currently a home office, though with built-in wardrobes, the size and light would suit that, a nursery, or a bedroom equally well. The bathroom carries the same quality through: a bath with a shower over for flexibility, a wash basin set into storage to keep things tidy, an illuminated mirror above, plus a WC and a heated towel radiator. Nothing left half-finished.

General information

Sheafside Apartments is a small development set on Archer Mews, offering an allocated parking space within the development's car park along with well-maintained communal gardens. This is a genuinely convenient spot for everyday living. Sainsbury's, Tesco, Aldi and Home Bargains are all close by for the weekly shop, along with the Archer Road retail park, home to Firehouse Fitness and PureGym for those wanting to stay active. It's a short walk to Millhouses Park, Crumb Bakery, and the Waggon and Horses and Robin Hood pubs, while Abbeydale Road and London Road both offer a diverse mix of restaurants and cafés. Regular buses run into Sheffield city centre, and it's a short drive to Dore & Totley train station, with easy access to the M1 via the A61.
