Georgina’s love of property started at an early age when she visited a new-build site with her parents to buy their next home, a moment that sparked a passion she’s carried ever since. Over the years, she’s followed that passion into a varied career, working for a local property developer in new homes and later as a lettings area manager across Yorkshire. Now, with over 25 years of experience in the Sheffield property market, she’s as enthusiastic as ever about helping people with their property needs.

And when she’s not talking property, you’ll most likely find her with her family, enjoying the great outdoors with her Labrador, Monty, by her side.

Suzanne

Estate Agent

Suzanne brings nearly 30 years’ experience in the New Homes industry, having worked for national PLC housebuilders in senior roles including Sales Director, Regional Sales & Marketing Manager and Sales Manager. This depth of experience gives her a strong understanding of both the commercial and customer sides of new-build property, from first release through to completion.

Having lived locally for around 40 years, Suzanne has an extensive knowledge of the area and the communities within it. Her son was born locally and raised in Crosspool, attending local schools, which further strengthens her personal connection to the area. Suzanne is also a lifelong Sheffield Wednesday supporter and a self-confessed food enthusiast, enjoying cooking and baking for family and friends. During lockdown, she set herself the challenge of learning a dish from a new cuisine every week, with plenty of successes along the way, even if the Japanese week didn’t quite go to plan.

Thom Cocker

Co-Founder

Born and raised in Sheffield, Thom has spent around 18 years working full-time in estate agency and has an in-depth understanding of the Sheffield property market. In 2015, he co-founded Cocker & Carr with Georgina with a clear aim: to offer honest, professional advice with a genuinely personal approach, in an industry too often associated with poor service and misleading guidance.

Outside of work, Thom is a proud Sheffield Wednesday fan who loves most sports and plays padel and golf, often de-stressing at the gym. He also spends as much time as possible with his toddler son Cameron, whom he has with Miranda, and out walking their Cocker Spaniel Fred.

Katherine

Estate Agent

Katherine has been working in estate agency since 2006 and brings a huge depth of experience and knowledge to the team. Over the years she’s worked across both traditional residential sales and property auctions, giving her a well-rounded understanding of the market and the many different routes a sale can take. Calm, organised and incredibly knowledgeable, Katherine is often the steady hand guiding clients through what can feel like a daunting process.

Outside of work, she enjoys crafting and baking with her daughter, and spending time outdoors walking her cocker spaniel, Harvey, with her husband Darren.

Kirsty Holmshaw

Office Manager

Kirsty joined the team in August 2016 and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from across the property industry. She has incredible expertise in the lettings sector, which is invaluable to our landlord clients, and plays a key role in managing the tenancies we look after on their behalf. From coordinating maintenance and repairs to ensuring properties remain fully compliant with current legislation, Kirsty provides landlords with confidence that their investments are being professionally managed.

Alongside her lettings expertise, Kirsty has previously worked in estate agency and within HSBC’s mortgage department, and holds a degree in Property Management from Sheffield Hallam University, giving her a thorough, well-rounded understanding of the property market. Outside of work, Kirsty loves trips to the coast, with Whitby a firm favourite, and can often be found adding to her growing collection of vintage tea sets.

Mel Armswood

Estate Agent

Mel’s property journey started early, buying her first home at just 21. Since then, she’s refurbished several properties and went on to self-build in 2012, giving her first-hand experience of the challenges, decisions and rewards that come with buying, improving and building homes. This practical background means she genuinely understands property from a client’s perspective, not just an agent’s.

Outside of work, Mel is hugely competitive and sport-driven. She’s trained and competed across rugby, boxing and kickboxing, completed multiple half marathons and the London Marathon, and now focuses on hybrid fitness competitions. Her achievements include multiple HYROX events, four doubles and one solo, and a 4th place finish in her category at the 2023 HYROX World Championships in Women’s Doubles.

Miranda Cocker

Estate Agent

Miranda’s career in property began while she was still at university, carrying out Saturday viewings and gaining early, hands-on experience of the industry. With a family background in property development, her interest in homes started even earlier, she spent much of her childhood on building sites, learning how properties are put together from the ground up.

More recently, Miranda returned to education as a mature student, achieving a First-Class degree in Building Surveying from Sheffield Hallam University. Alongside her academic success, she brings in-depth, practical knowledge from working across lettings, sales and previously as a mortgage advisor, giving her a well-rounded understanding of the entire property journey. Outside of work, she’s kept busy by her toddler son, Cameron, and the family’s cocker spaniel, Fred.

Monty

Monty is our friendly, office Labrador and full-time goofball. He attends the office most days to perform very important responsibilities, which mainly include being adorable, causing harmless chaos, and making sure no one takes themselves too seriously.

Daily duties include doorway patrol: standing in exactly the wrong spot at exactly the wrong time, Zoom call supervision: popping his head into meetings to remind everyone he exists, cuddle enforcement and snack investigation. Monty takes his role of being the office’s top provider of unexpected laughter seriously, often spinning in a circle to show off or proudly carrying around a toy he’s not supposed to have.

If anyone needs a mental break, a wagging tail, or just someone to listen without judgment, Monty’s (floppy) ears are always open.
